Quotes of the week

There are so many things that Melia says, that make me laugh, smile, and think "Where does she come up with these things?" So I thought I would share them with all of you.

These are all things that came out of her little mouth this week.

"Can we go to Church now, I want to dance and get my praise on" Get my praise on - a phrase coined by her favorite babysitter Ms. Teri :)

Last night as we were praying with Melia she says, "I want to pray" so we let her. This was her opening line...

"Dear God in Florida"

Everything she talked about last night had to do with Florida and she was insistent God was there. I have no idea where talk of Florida came from.

"Mommy I missed you" (when I came home from work early today). It made my heart melt.

And finally...

"mommy, I see your bummy"

Yesterday when I got home from work I sat down on the living room floor to change Eva's diaper. My wonderful maternity pants, which always seem to be falling down, were on their way down again revealing, lets call it my lower back. Melia observed this and felt the need to comment and laugh. This occurred even with a cami and a bella band on. Sometimes it's just unpreventable :)

Poor Little Eva

Wednesday morning Eva woke up with a cough. By Thursday afternoon her nose was running non-stop and she was running a fever. Motrin became her friend. She was still sleeping well through the night and was just a little crankier during the day. Friday night she was beside her self. She was up every 45 min through the night. Her nose running into her mouth was driving her NUTS. She would sit up crying, spit out her passy, and wave her hand in front of her nose. She did not really want me to wipe it, but settled for that over it dripping down her face. Chris is gone for the weekend, so she spent the night in bed with me. She tossed and turned all night, and woke up with a fever of 102. It was off to the clinic after the girls woke up Sat. morning. She has a double ear infection. She endured a lot of firsts this weekend..first fever, first ear infection, and first antibiotics. She has been relatively healthy, besides a cold here and there, but the fever did her in. She stopped running a fever last night around dinner time. She was exhausted when she went to bed, and it looked like it was going to be another long night. She was up once an hour from 8:00pm-2:00am. At 2:00 I brought her into bed with me, and she has not moved or made a peep since.

So why I am up at 6:00am on the computer you ask???? Good question. I woke up at 5:15, after three hours of uninterrupted sleep, wide awake. I laid in bed tossing and turning, until an hour later I gave in to no sleep and grabbed the lap top. I sit in the dark typing, looking up baby boy names, reading blogs, checking online for great deals on baby boy clothes, and NOT sleeping. A nap will be in my future today, I am sure, but as for now I sit quietly, listening to the sweet sound of Eva breathing peacefully next to me, thankful that she is feeling better and sleeping well.

Snowmobiling Trip

This weekend Chris, Ben, Rebekah and I made a day trip out of snowmobiling. We have had sleds for a couple years, but I had yet to use them. I was a little apprehensive at first, but we had a great time. Although it was very fun, one day in the cold and snow was enough for me. I do not think I could spend a whole weekend doing it. I woke up this morning VERY sore. It was a great time with friends. We rode a few hours, stopped to eat and rode a little. I was the slowest of the bunch, but did hit speeds of 55-60 a few times.

Ben, Rebekah, Chris, and I

Our partners in crime..ready for a day of fun

Running after the heart of the Father. Seeking His face in All things. Walking His will out in my life. These are the desires of my heart. Along the way I am a wife and mom who wants to capture memories that will last a life time.
